Overview:
Full-time, permanent
35-40 hours per week; Tuesday-Saturday
A typical shift will be 8am-4pm with one paid break
Extended medical & dental benefits are available to full time employees after 3 months of employment
Starting wage: $22/hour + paid breaks, paid sick days, store discount
As a barista & customer service representative, you would be taking on the following responsibilities:
Serving food to customers
Making beverages and serving them
Gaining product knowledge of our food & beverage menu, and learning how to communicate about our products to customers
Maintaining a clean work environment
Working the cash register
Opening and closing the store
The ideal candidate for this position:
Experience making espresso-based beverages
Experience working in customer service, especially foodservice
An appreciation for scratch-made baked goods
A willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in French and/or proficiency in a second language
Good communication skills
The following is a list of physical and psychological demands of the job:
Standing on your feet for 8-9 hours/day
Lifting up to 15kg at a time
Working in a warm environment
Repetitive motion, especially while making espresso-based drinks
Working with potentially hazardous equipment
Squatting, bending
Working with vulnerable members of the community, who may display signs of distress
Experiencing tense interactions that require de-escalation
The following training certification is required for this position, and must be completed by the time of hiring:
Food Handlers Certification
WHMIS 2015
Ontario Ministry of Labour Health & Safety at Work
